We put together the top 4 ways to improve your car’s listing based on feedback we received from our top owners and also by reviewing our top-performing owners’ car listings.
By following these simple steps, you will increase your vehicle’s attractiveness and will gain more attention from potential renters.
We will be featuring monthly interviews with selected Vinty owners to share their tips and advice for improving their own earnings through Vinty. Send us an email at [email protected] to be featured!
1.) Staying Connected with Vinty
An incredibly important aspect of your experience with Vinty is staying connected to the marketplace. Make sure you are receiving emails from Vinty to receive notifications as soon as your car has a rental request or when a renter sends you a message.
If emails from Vinty are ending up in your spam folder, make sure to add [email protected] to your email contact list. This is the most common reason our owners aren’t receiving notifications from Vinty.
Pictures of your car are a major component of your listing and are the first thing people see when viewing your car’s listing. It is imperative that you include high-quality pictures that clearly illustrate your car’s condition and body color.
Your pictures should make the car easily visible so make sure you have good lighting (mid-day is best) and stay away from filters or funky edits. Include pictures of the interior and any blemished areas of the car.
Notice how these pictures are taken during mid-day with great lighting and clearly show what the car looks like.
Each picture is properly framed and the car is not cropped out. Pictures are taken in a landscape format and not vertical, popular for cell phones.
This is an unfortunate case where the listing includes a beautiful car (that is probably in better condition than the red Mustang above), but the car’s perceived value or attractiveness may be hindered by sub-par photos.
The car is not framed properly or shown in dark lighting, so the viewer is not able to see the car as it would look in real life.
Choosing your own price on Vinty gives you the freedom to price your car equal to YOUR perceived value of the car. This ability also gives you an opportunity to learn a quick lesson in Supply and Demand.
When first listing your car, look to see if there are any similar models already listed on Vinty and use their price as a baseline. If you have a great listing but aren’t getting any requests for your car, you may want to lower the price. If you are receiving more requests than you can accommodate, it may be time to raise your price.
Including a detailed description of your car and services will help potential renters decide if it is the right fit for their event and will also answer most of their questions before they even message you.
Include details like: free delivery range, mileage restrictions, any other fees that are associated with your rental, functioning/non-functioning parts, etc.
Tell us what makes your car unique! This isn’t a modern Accord or Corolla, your car has a story and this is what our renters are looking for! Maybe it was a Father/Son restoration project, a family heirloom, or maybe even a dream car that you still work hard to keep in great condition.
What does the result of a Vinty rental look like?
