Information about the vehicle

This is a 1974 ex-military Landrover Series 3 109" FFR (Fitted For Radio). It retains the original 2v electrical system including the twin batteries between the front seats and sheilded ignition system from its time in service. Finished as per the photographs in satin green with black disruptive overlays as per the 1980's. Only the union flag is fitted to identify it as a British vehicle in BAOR - no unit markings are present so it can be used to portray any unit required. The TUAAM boxes on the front wings for VHF communications are present with the boxes fitted as are the high side stalks for the UHF sets. The radio table in the rear body carries the PRC353 and PRC320 Clansman radio's on the dexion rack and a VRC353 Radio plus DMU on the radio table - an operators seat is also there. A number of equipment bags are also in the rear carrying various items of radio equiplment. The rear bumperettes are the special ones to carry the 8 metre or 12 metre Clark masts and the top clamp is in the rear allowing the 8 metre mast - also in the rear - to be fitted. One of the accessory bags contains the pineapple and extender for the 8 metre mast. The pioneer tools for the rear tailgate are present - shovel, pick axe head and helve.
Currently tubeless 110 rims are fitted with Michelin XZL radial tyres - these give better grip in the wet and a better ride generally than the OE Firestone cross-plys but visually the wheels look the same. NATO tow hitches are fitted to the front and rear bumpers for towing/pushing. The original military registration plates - 55 FM 58 - are available to be fitted for events off the public highway.
In the front both driver and passenger have inertia reel setbelts and the high and low level gun racks are present as is the central water jerry can carrier.
Overall the vehicle looks as it would have in service during the late 1970's and 1980's
